HRI understands that the cost of attending HR25 is prohibitive for some people. We work hard to raise funds for scholarships to make HR25 more accessible. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Harm Reduction International is pleased to offer assistance to a small number of delegates to attend HR25.
In order to support as many applicants as possible with the extremely limited scholarship funds available, most scholarships granted will cover only partial costs of attending the conference. We therefore encourage everyone seeking funding to look into other sources as well. Scholarships will only be granted to people whose abstracts are accepted. You may submit a scholarship application as part of your abstract submission.
Please apply for a scholarship ONLY if you are unable to attend without support. Applying for a scholarship may reduce the chances of your abstract being selected, as funds to cover scholarships are so limited. By submitting a scholarship application, you are signalling that you will not be able to attend to present your abstract without a scholarship; we will therefore reject your abstract if scholarship funds have been exhausted.
Scholarships are usually granted to people from low- and middle-income countries and are predominantly awarded to people who use drugs.
We understand that not everyone is willing or able to travel to attend a conference.
HR25 virtual registration will open in January 2025.
The conference relies on a dedicated team of volunteers to make it run smoothly. Volunteers work 50% of the conference in return for free entry. Volunteer tasks include helping in the wellbeing room, providing support in session rooms and being on hand to help people navigate the conference. Check back in October for more information about how to apply to volunteer at HR25.
