Harm Reduction International will stage their biennial conference in Bogotá, Colombia, from 27-30 April 2025. With nine months until the event, HRI invites you to register your interest in becoming part of the Online Review Committee (ORC) for the 28th Harm Reduction International Conference (HR25). A call for abstracts is at the very core of each HRI conference and always marks a true start in its planning; your contribution will help to ensure the quality of content to be presented at the conference.
This ORC will undertake the considerable task of reviewing over 1200 abstract submissions and, as 80% of the programme is driven by abstracts, the HR25 ORC should reflect a wide range of experiences with regard to drug use, sex work, age, race/ethnicity, professional background and geographic location, so that our team of reviewers will be reading the submissions through a variety of perspectives.
The call for abstracts call will go out in August 2024, and those wishing to submit an abstract will have 6-8 weeks to do so. Reviewers will evaluate the abstracts using a simple online scoring system, and we will ask you to review approximately 30 abstracts of no more than 300 words. Your name and organisation will appear in the conference reader, and you will receive a £50 discount to attend the conference. This work will be carried out in the second half of October 2024.
HRI is also looking for members to join our HR25 Abstract Mentor Programme, which will connect those new to abstract submission with experienced mentors, to receive valuable feedback from experienced colleagues before submitting an abstract to the Harm Reduction International Conference. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, and have available hours in September 2024, please indicate this when asked in the form.
