VISA INFORMATION

Have you planned your trip to Colombia? If you need a visa to enter the country, don’t worry. We are here to help you. You can apply for your visa online from the comfort of your home. The website is available in Spanish and English, so you can choose the language you are most comfortable with.

Before you begin, we recommend that you read the instructions carefully. Below you will find very useful tips that will help you navigate the online system smoothly. Remember that if you have any doubts during the process, you can always consult the official website of the Colombian Chancellery and find the requirements to apply for a Colombian visa.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

WHAT TYPE OF VISA SHOULD I APPLY FOR?

The type of visa you must apply for to attend the conference is VISITOR (V) EVENT (VISITANTE (V) EVENTO)

WHAT IS THE COST?

You must make two payments. The first payment will be 42 Euros if the application is made in the Euro zone territory or in Cuba, and 54 US Dollars if the application is made from any other part of the world. Once the visa is approved, a second payment of 101 Euros must be made if the application comes from the Euro zone or Cuba, and 177 US Dollars if it comes from the rest of the world.

HOW DO I PAY?

Payment can be made by credit card. The page can be glitchy but it will work if you keep trying. If you're unable to make a payment, contact us at visas@hri.global, and we will try to find a solution.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Extra information to make your application go smoothly.

To improve your chances of getting a visa on time, it is advisable to submit the application approximately three months before your travel date. Before making the application take the time to check that you have all the required documents. The website of the Colombian Chancellery often fails, if this happens try another browser.

Consider asking your employer to write a letter explaining that you are employed and that they have given you approval to travel to attend the conference. This letter will need to be translated into Spanish. (See below for a tip on this.)

Where translations into Spanish are required, consider using google translate or deepl and explain that that is how you made the translation. Attach the original to the translation.

You may need a yellow fever vaccination. For more information about yellow fever vaccination, consult your government's travel advice or click below.

CHECKMIG FORM

CheckMig is an immigration form that everyone should complete before arriving in Colombia to make the immigration process go as smoothly as possible. You should complete it 1-72 hours before your arrival in Colombia. It is a very glitchy form and you will need to try many times before it works!
